Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vic Sotto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Vasiliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasiliev is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Zombie by The Cranberries. Oleg Vasiliev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sotto thuds his right hand into Vasiliev's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Sotto chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Vasiliev can pounce on him.
Oleg Vasiliev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vasiliev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sotto looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Vasiliev has picked Sotto up and slammed him! Sotto can't keep hold of the triangle and Vasiliev manages to pass to side control!
Vasiliev looks up at the clock and then as Sotto takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Vasiliev smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Sotto gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sotto is looking to improve his position.

Oleg Vasiliev dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Vasiliev wants to clinch.
Vasiliev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Vasiliev shoots in and drives through. Sotto sprawls well.
Vic Sotto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Vasiliev.
Vasiliev moves forwards but Sotto connects with a nice, crisp jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sotto ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sotto stuffs the takedown attempt from Vasiliev. Vasiliev gets slowly back to his feet.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Sotto here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Vasiliev is breathing heavily.
Vasiliev's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sotto connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Vasiliev scrambles back to his feet.

Vasiliev tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Sotto paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vasiliev doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Vic Sotto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
