Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kendall Grove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Betts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kendall Grove has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kendall Grove!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Betts!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Betts as Grove shoots in.
Grove pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Betts avoids a kick to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Grove is defended easily by Betts.
Grove throws a sloppy head kick

and Betts counters by moving into the clinch.
Grove trying to land knees to the body.
Betts scores a nice knee to the body.

Grove jumps guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Betts controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Grove will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Betts has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Aaron Betts.
Grove lands a two punch combo.
Betts checks the leg kick nicely there.

Grove has Betts up against the cage in a clinch.

Betts pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Betts fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Grove shoots in for a double leg but Betts sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kendall Grove. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Betts shoots for a takedown but Grove saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Grove shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Betts napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Betts tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Grove wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Grove slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Betts.

Betts is trying desperately to improve position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A nice elbow there by Grove.
Betts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grove. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Betts is trying to escape the mount.

Grove jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Betts is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Betts and Grove has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Betts wants to control but Grove postures up.
Grove working the ground and pound but Betts is defending the strikes.
Grove lands a decent elbow from side control.
Betts manages to get back to half guard.
Grove really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Betts has hold of Grove's hands but Grove slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Betts kicks Grove off and gets back to his feet.
Grove tries to clinch there but Betts circles away.
Grove shoots in looking for a takedown but Betts manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Grove's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kendall Grove seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grove shoots in and drives through. Betts sprawls well.
Grove is breathing heavily.
Both fighters circling a little - Betts finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Grove fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Betts avoids it really well and circles away.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Grove throws a head kick that misses.
Grove throws a low kick but Betts avoids it.
Grove keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Betts misses with a series of wild punches.

Grove shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Betts but Betts pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Grove shoots in but Betts avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Betts lands with a nice combination. Grove backs away looking to recover.
Betts defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Grove.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Betts tries to score a power double leg takedown but Grove sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Betts somewhat.
Grove will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kendall Grove will probably get the nod.

Grove changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Betts tries to avoid it but Grove manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Betts to the ground. Betts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Betts misses with a wild body shot.
Betts avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Betts rushes Grove and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Betts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Betts changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Grove tries to avoid it but Betts manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Grove to the ground. Grove escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Betts fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Grove, pushing him back against the cage.
Betts is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Betts lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Betts displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Grove.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Grove is pressed up against the cage. Betts has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Grove down to the mat. Grove avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Grove throws a right and a left that Betts avoids nicely.

Betts is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Grove defends well.

Betts utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Grove throws a big right hand that misses.
Betts wants to sweep but no luck.
Grove wants to pass the guard but Betts is keeping the position.
Grove slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close second round but Aaron Betts will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Betts is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Grove is just riding it out for now. Betts eventually gives up the hold.
Betts throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kendall Grove.
I think Grove has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
