Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ayrton Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ayrton Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Duke Li!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Li bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Silva is trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva trying to remain calm as Li controls from the top position.
Silva is looking for a sweep.
Silva is being controlled here.
Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Silva takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Silva is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Silva wants to improve his position but Li is controlling well.

Li is working for a submission of some sort.

Silva looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Li looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Li moves nicely into side control.
Silva tries to bench press Li off him but Li keeps the position.
Li in side control lands a decent elbow.
Li lands an elbow.
Li works to advance to full mount. Silva defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Li working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Li is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Silva tries to lock up and control but Li gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Li controlling from the full mount.
Silva might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Silva keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva is working hard here to advance position.
Silva sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Silva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Li passes into side control, despite Silva's attempt to control the position.

Li tries for a kimura but Silva is defending well.
Silva is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Li decides to stand back up. Li steps back and let's Silva get back to his feet.
Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Li circles away.

Li moves into the clinch successfully.
Silva misses with a punch to the body.
Silva misses with a punch to the body.

Li wants the takedown. Silva is fighting it off but Li persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Silva's guard against the cage.

Li really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Silva is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Li rolls with it to try and escape but Silva cranks on the arm and Li is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ayrton Silva!
