Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Benedict Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny McNulty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Holmes might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Am I Demon by Danzig. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes throws a right and a left that McNulty avoids nicely.
McNulty tries for a takedown but Holmes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
McNulty keeps the fight on the outside.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Holmes is defended easily by McNulty.
McNulty moves in looking to clinch but Holmes pushes him off.
McNulty fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
McNulty will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

McNulty wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Holmes.

That was a close second round but I would say that Benedict Holmes will probably get the nod.

Holmes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McNulty manages to get himself to full guard.
McNulty takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

McNulty really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Holmes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Benedict Holmes.
Well Holmes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Benedict Holmes decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
