Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Straupis as Chappel shoots in.
Chappel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Chappel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Chappel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tadas Straupis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Chappel.
Chappel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Straupis moves into the clinch successfully.
Straupis drops down looking for an ankle pick but Chappel pulls his leg out and moves away.
Chappel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Chappel wants to clinch
and Straupis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Chappel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Straupis works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Chappel looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Chappel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chappel closes this distance looking for a takedown but Straupis circles away.
Straupis misses with a double jab.
Chappel shoots in looking for a takedown but Straupis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chappel's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Straupis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Chappel fails with a takedown attempt.
Chappel looks winded!
The crowd cheers as Chappel lands an impressive looking overhand right. Straupis doesn't seem phased though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chappel closes the distance but Straupis moves to the side
and Straupis counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Chappel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Chappel tries to clinch

and Straupis counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Straupis blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Straupis lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Chappel is trying to break the clinch but Straupis is controlling him.

Straupis breaks from the clinch.
Straupis swats away the attempt to clinch by Chappel.
Whack! Straupis lands a heavy head kick that drops Chappel. The ref tackles Straupis to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Chappel was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Tadas Straupis!
