The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Penn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mihai did well to prevent Penn getting side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Penn seems to be looking for submissions.

Penn is working for a submission of some sort.

Penn looking for a submission but Mihai manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Penn wants to pass the guard but Mihai is keeping the position.
Mihai wants to stand up but Penn is controlling him.

Penn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Penn's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Penn passes Mihai's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mihai knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Penn on the ground.

Penn has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mihai defend it? Penn steps over the head and cranks it - Mihai is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Penn!
