Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Conan Lyall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kubrat Pulev!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Lyall or perhaps it was just good defense by Pulev which made him look bad.
Pulev throws a nice looking combination but Lyall bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Lyall fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pulev to the ground. Lyall is now in Pulev's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lyall is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Lyall tries to stand but Pulev is controlling from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pulev can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lyall slips nicely into half guard.
Pulev is trying to stand.
Lyall is controlling the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lyall tries to stand but can't do so whilst Pulev controls his leg.

Lyall is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pulev has managed to free his arm - good work.
Pulev is trying to stand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lyall stalling.
Pulev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lyall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pulev tries to kick Lyall off but Lyall keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Lyall maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Pulev could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Lyall has cracked it and Pulev is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Lyall!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Conan Lyall!
