Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fran Kubach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Fallon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kubach might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to What happened? by H2O. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fran Kubach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Neil Fallon!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fallon looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kubach!
Kubach is working to get back to half guard.
Fallon sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Kubach tries to lock up and control but Fallon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Fallon looking to control and managing it successfully.
Kubach is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Kubach manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Kubach is controlling Fallon's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Fallon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Kubach is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kubach is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Fallon pulls his head out easily.
Kubach is breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Fallon drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fallon works over Kubach with some ground and pound from guard.
Fallon lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Fallon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Fallon forces his way into half guard.
Fallon perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Kubach actively working from the bottom here.
Fallon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fallon prevents Kubach from improving his position.
Fallon is looking to pass Kubach's guard but actually Kubach recovers to full guard.
Kubach is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fallon wants to get back to full guard.
Kubach trying to control the action but Fallon is working from the bottom.
Kubach blocks the strikes from Fallon.
Fallon tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Kubach has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Fallon is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neil Fallon dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kubach lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Neil Fallon has been cut.

Fallon drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fallon throws and elbow that misses. Kubach uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fallon's guard. Nice move by Kubach!
Kubach would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Fallon has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kubach has passed into side control.
Fallon holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

Fallon wants to control but Kubach postures up.

Fallon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Fallon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kubach is working away from the top position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Fallon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Kubach is desperately trying to improve his position but Fallon has a good base and remains in mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fallon unloads with some shots from mount but Kubach bucks and avoids them well.
Kubach can't escape the position.
Kubach is working hard here to advance position.
Kubach wants to hold on but Fallon pushes him away.
Kubach is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kubach is squirming around, avoiding Fallon's attempts to control the action.

Neil Fallon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Kubach's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


A solid leg kick lands there for Kubach.
Kubach has a takedown stuffed.
Fallon shoots in but no luck this time.

Fallon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Kubach is not content to let Fallon control the position.
Fallon has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kubach wants to control but Fallon is having none of it.
Fallon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fallon is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Fallon can't control as he wanted to and Kubach manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Kubach looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Fallon working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kubach's head.
Kubach pulls Fallon in to control the position.

Kubach looking for a guillotine here but Fallon defends easily.
Fallon tries to free his leg and advance position but Kubach is retaining full guard.
Fallon wants to control from the top but Kubach keeps moving.
Neil Fallon has got the better of the ground game so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Kubach darts in and clinches Fallon up against the cage.

Kubach pulls guard effortlessly.

Kubach uses the cage to get back to his feet.

and Kubach counters with a head kick that drops Fallon!
Fallon is still in real trouble! Can Kubach finish him?
Kubach postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Fallon throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Kubach trying to control but Fallon is working from the bottom.
Fallon is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Kubach throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Fallon seems to have recovered his senses.
Fallon wants to sweep but no luck.

Kubach throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fallon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Kubach makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Fran Kubach has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Neil Fallon.
Fallon doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kubach counters by moving into the clinch.
Fallon can't get the takedown.
Kubach is working for takedown but Fallon is calmly controlling the position for now.
Fran Kubach has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kubach prevents the takedown attempt.
Kubach wants a takedown but no success here.

Kubach breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Fallon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kubach to the mat! Kubach manages to get full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kubach wants to stand up but Fallon is controlling him.
Fallon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kubach swivels though and keeps the full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kubach is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fran Kubach showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Fallon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
