PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jok Douhl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gorit Tenat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gorit Tenat was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Douhl shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Douhl is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Tenat really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Douhl. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Douhl connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Douhl gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Douhl pushes Tenat up against the cage in a clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tenat trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Douhl manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Douhl postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Douhl decides to take the fight back to the feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Douhl throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tenat.

Douhl shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Douhl was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Douhl's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Douhl decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Douhl.
Tenat takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Douhl has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Douhl is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tenat can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Douhl lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Douhl postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tenat looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Douhl lands a big shot there that rocks Tenat but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Douhl takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Douhl stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Douhl takes the fight into the clinch.

Tenat misses with a wild combination.
Douhl is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tenat can do to turn this around?

Tenat clinches with his opponent.

Douhl drags the fight down to the ground.

Douhl is controlling Tenat's posture.
Tenat is breathing heavily.
Douhl bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tenat's guard.
Tenat looking for a sweep. Not yet Tenat, not yet.
Douhl slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Tenat isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Douhl stacks Tenat on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Douhl!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Douhl decides to stand back up.

Douhl shoots in and gets a takedown into Tenat's guard.

Douhl gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Douhl controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Douhl pushes down on Tenat's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tenat is trying to maintain the position but Douhl is very close to passing his half guard.
Well, if Douhl is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Tenat has given up his back here. Will Douhl look for the submission or keep pounding away?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Douhl has managed to slip his arm under Tenat's chin. This could be all over... yep, Tenat is tapping out! Submission win for Douhl.
