Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colin Flecher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Nutts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Craig Nutts will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Colin Flecher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Craig Nutts!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Flecher shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nutts napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Flecher creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Nutts sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Nutts manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Nutts tries to roll over but Flecher keeps him under control.
Flecher thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nutts's head.
Flecher throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Nutts is trying to get back to full guard.
Nutts wants to control but Flecher is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Flecher trying to control the action but Nutts is working from the bottom.
Nutts is looking to improve his position.
Nutts keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nutts is not content to let Flecher control the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Colin Flecher wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Flecher tries for a takedown but Nutts circles away easily

and Nutts counters by clinching up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nutts tries for a takedown. No joy.
Flecher changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Nutts fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A low kick from Flecher is predictable there

and Nutts counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Flecher has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Nutts clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Nutts tries to escape but Flecher has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Nutts wants to control his opponent's hands but Flecher gets his hands free.
Flecher missing with strikes from the back.

Nutts defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Flecher's arms.
Flecher is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nutts trying to control the hands but Flecher breaks the grip.
Nutts rolls, trying to escape but Flecher keeps control of the position.
Flecher is trying to control but Nutts is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Flecher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nutts manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Flecher drops an elbow to the side of Nutts's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nutts desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Flecher seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Nutts is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Flecher's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Flecher's back!

Nutts sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Flecher taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Craig Nutts!
