The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz misses with a wild body shot.
Diaz paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Balorca manages to avoid it.
Diaz will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Balorca drives through with a takedown into Diaz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Diaz has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Balorca is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Diaz.

Balorca lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Balorca is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Diaz is surviving well by controlling Balorca's body position as best he can.

Balorca has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Diaz's face.

Balorca has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Diaz should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Balorca has tightened it up now! Diaz should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
