PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ong Bak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boca Naga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bak's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, you've lost that loving feeling. Naga comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wildes Ding kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ong Bak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Boca Naga!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bak tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Naga counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bak's guard now.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bak wants to stand up but Naga is controlling him.
Bak has a closed guard, preventing Naga from standing up.

Naga throws a big elbow that misses.
Naga looking to sit in guard and control but Bak gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bak scrambles and gets back to his feet.

and Naga counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bak really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Naga stands up over Bak, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Bak utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bak wants to sweep here but Naga controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Boca Naga was stalling too much, according to the referee.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boca Naga dominated that round.
That's time! Bak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

It looks like Boca Naga has been cut.

Bak's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Naga shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bak pinned against the ropes. Bak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bak is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Bak gets caught napping as Naga dives in and scores a takedown. Bak manages to retain guard.
Naga makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bak keeping moving, preventing Naga from controlling successfully.

Naga has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Naga might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bak haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Naga drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bak manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Naga has Bak in his guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Naga bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bak's guard.

Boca Naga showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Naga feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Baks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
