PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Axper Jan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaff Terra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jan comes to the ring accompanied by Im axpers!. Terra has chosen Imagine Dragons - Radioactive as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gaff Terra!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jan misses with a double jab.
Nice defenses there by Jan.

Terra fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jan, pushing him back against the ropes.
Jan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Terra smiles and moves away.
Terra tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Jan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Terra falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Gaff Terra has been cut.
Terra tries to clinch up but Jan circles away and keeps his distance.
Terra lands a jab-cross combination.
Terra tries to close the distance and clinch but Jan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jan swings for the body but Terra moves out of range.
Jan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Terra lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Terra clinches with his opponent.
Jan tries to pull guard but Terra won't allow it.

Jan drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Jan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Terra defends it easily.

Jan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Terra doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Terra manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jan pushes a forearm under Terra's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Terra is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
