PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keni Susi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Redmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Susi comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Hero of the Day. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keni Susi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nathan Redmond!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redmond fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Susi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Redmond fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Susi has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Redmond shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Susi is looking for a triangle but Redmond pushes his legs off easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Redmond accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Redmond looking to pass the guard.

Susi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Redmond is aware though and is defending well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Susi has his foot on Redmond's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Redmond works his way back into a safe position though.

Redmond has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Susi to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Redmond is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Susi pulls down on the head and he's put Redmond to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Keni Susi!
Keni Susi really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that CEC Nutrition Q160 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
