Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Goncalves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Murillomartins Martins!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Goncalves dives in and scores a takedown into Martins's guard.
Goncalves content to stall in guard here.
Martins wants to stand but Goncalves is controlling the position.
Goncalves's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Daniel Goncalves just wasn't active enough.

Goncalves shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Martins is trying to defend but Goncalves finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Goncalves is looking for a kimura but Martins is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Goncalves to get the leverage.

Goncalves is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Martins sees it coming and defends easily.

Goncalves gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Martins gets caught flat footed, as Goncalves shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Goncalves will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Goncalves passes Martins's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goncalves is looking to take a break and control but Martins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Goncalves not doing much here.

Goncalves escapes and gets back to his feet.

Goncalves looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Goncalves instigates a clinch.

Goncalves breaks from the clinch.

Martins gets caught napping as Goncalves dives in and scores a takedown. Martins manages to retain guard.
Goncalves wants to control from the top but Martins keeps moving.
Goncalves slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Daniel Goncalves just wasn't active enough.

Goncalves closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Martins quickly recovers to half guard.

Goncalves escapes and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Goncalves clinches with his opponent.

Goncalves escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Goncalves closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Goncalves cracks Martins with an elbow. That is naaassty.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Goncalves pushes Martins up against the cage in a clinch.

Goncalves jumps into guard, dragging Martins to the mat.
Martins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goncalves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Martins stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Goncalves has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Martins manages to get his head free but now Goncalves has transitioned to an armbar! Martins grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Goncalves! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Daniel Goncalves!
