Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diego Aragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Preston Pruitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Aragon!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Preston Pruitt!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pruitt shoots in and gets a takedown into Aragon's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pruitt won't allow Aragon to sweep him here.
Pruitt trying to control but Aragon is working from the bottom.

Pruitt is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Aragon is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Aragon has escaped and now he's on top!
Pruitt tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Pruitt is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Aragon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pruitt has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Aragon has managed to get both his arms back between Pruitt's legs - danger averted.
Pruitt wants to sweep here but Aragon controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pruitt tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pruitt has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Preston Pruitt has got the better of the ground game so far.

Pruitt is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Aragon has escaped the position, nice work there.
Pruitt is looking to take a break and control but Aragon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pruitt is trying to get an arm triangle but Aragon is defending well.
Aragon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pruitt on the ground.

Pruitt goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Aragon has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pruitt but great work by Aragon.
Pruitt manages to work his way to half guard, despite Aragon's best efforts.
Aragon is pressing down on Pruitt's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pruitt is holding on for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Pruitt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Aragon pulls his head out easily.

Pruitt wants to get back to his feet.
Pruitt is looking to improve his position.

Preston Pruitt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Aragon tries to clinch up but Pruitt circles away and keeps his distance.
Pruitt on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Aragon instigates a clinch.
Pruitt wants to take the fight to the mat but Aragon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Aragon stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Aragon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Aragon lands with a hook. Pruitt tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Pruitt wants to land a leg kick but Aragon is out of range.

Aragon lands with a light punch inside.
Aragon is pushing Pruitt up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Aragon stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Aragon breaks the clinch.
Preston Pruitt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pruitt misses with a wild combination.
Aragon just misses with a punch to the body.
Aragon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pruitt paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Aragon lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pruitt has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pruitt and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Pruitt avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Aragon scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Pruitt doesn't seem bothered though.

Nice uppercut there from Aragon.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Diego Aragon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Preston Pruitt.

Pruitt takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Aragon lands a right hook to the body.

Aragon just misses with a punch to the body.

Pruitt on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Diego Aragon is winning the standup battle so far.
A lazy left from Aragon finds it's target.
Aragon lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Pruitt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pruitt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Aragon as he avoids it easily.
Aragon takes a swing at Pruitt's ribcage but misses.
A jab lands there for Aragon.


Pruitt is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pruitt throws a big shot that misses.
Pruitt is still on wobbly legs! Can Aragon finish him?

Aragon cracks Pruitt with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Aragon has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Pruitt to stand back up!
Pruitt takes a body punch but keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diego Aragon clearly takes that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Aragon lands a slapping body shot.
Aragon lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Aragon comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Aragon moves into the clinch.
Aragon lands a body shot in the clinch.
Pruitt seems to have recovered his senses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Aragon working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Aragon lands with a left to the head.
Aragon lands a right hand.
Aragon tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Aragon lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Pruitt or not.

Aragon breaks from the clinch.
Aragon lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Pruitt head around and knocks him out cold! Aragon hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 4, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Diego Aragon!
