Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Johnson!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson gets caught flat footed, as Gracie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Gracie is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.

Johnson is defending against the submission attempts here by Gracie.
Gracie trying to mount his opponent but Johnson defends it.

Gracie is working for a kimura but Johnson is defending it quite comfortably.
Johnson is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Johnson is defending against the submission attempts here by Gracie.

Johnson won't allow Gracie to pass to mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Johnson tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.
Johnson is positioning himself well to prevent Gracie advancing to mount.
Johnson is looking to improve his position.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Johnson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Johnson is defending well.

Johnson tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.

and Johnson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Johnson throws the left hand but Gracie avoids the punch easily.

Gracie manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Johnson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Gracie jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Johnson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Johnson and Gracie has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Peter Gracie dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Johnson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Gracie drops his hands momentarily and Johnson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Johnson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gracie misses with a takedown
and Johnson counters with a slapping leg kick.
Gracie misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gracie chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Johnson can pounce on him.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gracie as he avoids it easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Gracie misses the target.
Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson which made him look bad.
Johnson avoids the body shot from Gracie.
Gracie shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gracie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gracie swings for the body but Johnson moves out of range.

Johnson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Johnson is looking to reverse the position.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Johnson, who protects the arm well.
Johnson wants to control but Gracie postures up.

Gracie has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Gracie moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Johnson has worked his arm free - good work by Johnson!
Johnson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Gracie wants to advance to full mount but Johnson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Peter Gracie clearly takes that round.

Decent striking displayed by Johnson there.
Gracie is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Johnson.
Gracie digs a good body shot into Johnson's ribs.
Gracie waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Johnson.
Johnson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Johnson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Johnson takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses.
Peter Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sloppy strikes from Gracie. Those never looked like landing.
Gracie shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gracie misses with an uppercut. Johnson saw that one coming.
Johnson throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.
Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat.
Gracie throws a half hearted mid kick.

Gracie misses with a takedown
and Johnson counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie misses with a wild body shot.
A chopping leg kick lands by Johnson.
Johnson scores with a jab. Gracie acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Johnson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gracie to the mat! Gracie manages to get full guard.

Gracie isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Johnson stacks Gracie on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Johnson!
Johnson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gracie to see if he's OK.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gracie taking punishment in the form of punches.

Johnson is chipping away with strikes.
Gracie manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Gracie looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Johnson pushes past his half guard into mount!
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Gracie in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The referee warns Gracie that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


Gracie is rocked!
Johnson drops a big elbow. That's hurt Gracie! More shots from Johnson and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
