The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galve tries to bum rush Holmes with a series of wild strikes but Holmes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Galve throws a nice looking combination but Holmes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Galve rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Holmes counters by moving into the clinch.
Holmes has Galve pressed against the cage.
Holmes scores with a knee to the head.

It looks like John Galve has been cut.
Galve fails to pull guard.
Galve goes for a takedown attempt but Holmes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Galve shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Holmes counters by clinching up.

Galve drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Holmes gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Holmes.
Galve has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Holmes after a bit of a struggle.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Alex Holmes.
Galve misses with a takedown attempt
and Holmes counters with a low kick, right behind Galve 's knee.
Galve misses with a hook. Holmes ducked under it nicely.

Holmes scores with a one two! Galve had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Holmes lands a damaging elbow.
Holmes working the clinch nicely. Galve is working for position but Holmes cracks him with a big knee to the head! Galve crumples up against the cage and Holmes lands two more shots before the ref can save Galve! This one is all over!
