Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Corpus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Uzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uzi has chosen Slayer - Angel of Death as his entrance music. Kurt Uzi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Corpus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kurt Uzi!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corpus throws a head kick that misses.
Uzi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Corpus swivels and escapes.
Corpus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Uzi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Corpus misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A jab from Corpus misses.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Corpus. Uzi shrugs it off though.
Corpus misses with a lunging right hand

and Uzi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Uzi.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Corpus wants to stand and escape but Uzi is having none of it.
Corpus is wriggling around but Uzi manages to pass to half guard.
Corpus pushes Uzi off looking to stand but Uzi dives back in and keeps control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Corpus keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Uzi keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Uzi is keen to just control but Corpus is a slippery customer.

Corpus kicks off Uzi and gets to his feet.
Corpus looks to throw the jab but Uzi is out of range.
Corpus tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice sprawl there from Corpus as Uzi shoots in.
John Corpus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kurt Uzi.

Uzi sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Corpus to the ground! Uzi dives into full mount looking to finish!


It looks like John Corpus has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Uzi throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Uzi avoids the attempt from Corpus to control.
Corpus is trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Corpus slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Corpus trying to control here.
Corpus is pressing down on Uzi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Corpus utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Uzi postures up in Corpus's guard and throws a big left but Corpus blocks it.
Corpus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Corpus wants to stand and escape but Uzi is having none of it.
Uzi wants to control from the top but Corpus keeps moving.
Uzi pushes down on Corpus's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Corpus is trying to stand.
Uzi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Uzi slows the pace down in half guard.
Uzi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Uzi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Uzi trying to control the action but Corpus is working from the bottom.
Corpus is concentrating on defense, preventing Uzi from advancing position.

Uzi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Corpus doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Uzi.
Corpus wants to get back to his feet.

Uzi wants to control but Corpus is keeping him busy.
Uzi sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Corpus defending well though.
Corpus wants to get back to his feet.
Uzi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Uzi lands a heavy elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Corpus is squirming around, avoiding Uzi's attempts to control the action.
Uzi lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Uzi drops a big elbow. That's hurt Corpus! More shots from Uzi and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kurt Uzi!
During a confident post fight interview, Kurt Uzi thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
