Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Albert Fish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abel Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Albert Fish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abel Vasquez!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasquez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fish looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fish throws a hook but Vasquez avoids it easily.
Fish throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Vasquez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fish.
Fish connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Vasquez's hands.


It looks like Abel Vasquez has been cut.
Vasquez changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A decent looking cross lands there for Fish.
Fish misses with a hook. Vasquez ducked under it nicely.
Vasquez moves out of range of the strikes.
Fish scores with a decent looking hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fish throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vasquez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Vasquez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Fish clobbers Vasquez with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


That has opened up Abel Vasquez's cut even more.

and Vasquez counters with a nice uppercut.

Fish takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Vasquez throws a one two combo.
The fighters circling - Fish throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Fish avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Vasquez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Fish's head.
Fish misses with a wild body shot.
Fish fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vasquez manages to avoid it.

Vasquez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Vasquez cracks Fish with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Vasquez throws out a loose jab but Fish uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vasquez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Albert Fish's cut is getting worse.

Fish connects with a beautiful left hand that drops Vasquez onto his butt! Vasquez bounces straight back up though - he's OK. After the ref checks him out, we're back to the action.

Vasquez throws out a loose jab but Fish uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vasquez closes the distance and catches Fish with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Fish is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Fish is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Fish is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Vasquez takes it!
