Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Todd Haiyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mieczyslaw Stepien!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stepien fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stepien is defended easily by Haiyes.
Stepien tries to clinch
and Haiyes counters with a head kick.
Stepien shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Haiyes defends it nicely.

Haiyes clinches up with Stepien and pushes him back against the cage.
Stepien is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Haiyes prevents the takedown attempt.
Todd Haiyes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mieczyslaw Stepien.
Stepien jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Haiyes walks away with a smile on his face. Stepien gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A head kick misses from Haiyes.
Haiyes goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Mieczyslaw Stepien has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stepien throws the kick towards the body but Haiyes avoids it.
No luck for Stepien with that takedown attempt.
Stepien slips a straight right by Haiyes.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Stepien trying to control the position but instead, Haiyes has worked for underhooks and has pushed Stepien into the cage.
Stepien takes an elbow to the forehead.
Haiyes taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Stepien takes a knee to the side of the body.
Haiyes works on Stepien's body with a couple of short punches.
Stepien looks winded!
Haiyes lands a nice elbow.
Haiyes putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Stepien in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Haiyes stalling the fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Haiyes lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Haiyes has Stepien pressed against the cage, preventing Stepien from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Haiyes lands a good knee to the midsection. Stepien won't want to take too many of those.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Haiyes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Haiyes rushes Stepien with punches - Stepien moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Stepien goes down! Haiyes follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Todd Haiyes!
