PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Dront (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and dmitri petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). dmitri petrov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
petrov shoots in but Dront avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dront looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A combination from Dront does no damage.
The Dront seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
petrov swats away the attempt to clinch by Dront.
Dront misses with a two punch combination.
Dront tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but petrov paws at him with a jab and circles away.

petrov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dront, who protects the arm well.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

petrov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Well, if petrov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Dront pushes petrov off looking to stand but petrov dives back in and keeps control.
Dront knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for petrov on the ground.

Dront is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, petrov has taken his back.

petrov has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Dront is defending well but eventually petrov manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Dront has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
