PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darren Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Wayne's choice of entrance music: All I Do is Win by DJ Khaled. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a head kick but Wayne moves out of range.
Wayne blocks a head kick by Jones.
A head kick from Jones lands but Wayne takes it in his stride.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Jones goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Jones throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones fails in his attempt to clinch.

Wayne takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
A head kick misses from Jones.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones throws a head kick but Wayne moves out of range.
Jones lands a high kick!
Wayne circles away from the clinch attempt.
Horrible takedown by Wayne or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.

Wayne feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Wayne changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Wayne is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Wayne chips away with some ground and pound.
Jones wants to stand and escape but Wayne is having none of it.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Wayne keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Wayne dives into side control.

Wayne lands a big elbow and you can see that really hurt Jones! Wayne senses the opportunity and scores with more strikes - he's put Jones out! The ref tackles him out of the way to prevent him landing more strikes - this one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Damien Wayne started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
