Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Funkyama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Guara Grove!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funkyama throws a right and a left that both miss.
Funkyama fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
No joy there for Grove, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Grove tries to clinch but Funkyama is having none of it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Grove looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Grove tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Funkyama paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Grove avoids a punch combination nicely.
Grove doesn't manage to clinch there - Funkyama circles away.
Funkyama throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Grove was covering up waiting for the punch and Funkyama finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Grove controls Funkyama momentarily but Funkyama frees himself.

Grove not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Funkyama working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Grove wants to sweep but no luck.

Funkyama won't allow Grove to get back to his feet.
Grove looking for a guillotine here but Funkyama defends easily.

Grove is looking to stand up but Funkyama isn't so interested in that idea.
Grove striking off his back but it's not causing Funkyama any problems.
Funkyama stands up and waves to Grove to follow him.
Grove displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Funkyama.
Funkyama drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Funkyama has an Americana. Grove didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Funkyama is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Funkyama hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
