Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monty Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glen Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Monster by Skillet. Davis has chosen Celtics as his entrance music. Glen Davis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Monty Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Glen Davis!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Brown misses with a wild body shot.
Nice defenses there by Davis.
Brown misses with a kick to the body.
Davis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Davis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Davis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brown circles away.

Davis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Davis looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Brown is avoiding damage well.
Brown tries to improve position but can't.
Brown sneaks back into half guard.

Brown is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Davis pulls his head out easily.
Brown has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Davis is working away from the top position though.
Brown might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Davis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Brown tries to roll over but Davis keeps him under control.

Brown works his way to full guard. Good work.
Davis working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Brown's head.
Davis postures up in Brown's guard and throws a big left but Brown blocks it.
Brown is trying to keep Davis in close.
Davis looking to sit in guard and control but Brown gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Brown makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Davis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Brown connects with a couple of short punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Davis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brown prevents Davis from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but Davis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Davis has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Brown is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Davis.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brown wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis tries to improve position but can't.
Brown cracks Davis with a big elbow.
Davis manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Davis tries to get to full guard but Brown has control of the leg.
Davis is trying to control but can't.
Davis is trying to get back to full guard.
Davis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Brown winds up and cracks Davis with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Brown is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Davis has hold of Brown's hands but Brown slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Davis manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Davis winds up and cracks Brown with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Brown is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Monty Brown will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Brown gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Davis tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard.

Brown manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Davis bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Brown has his foot on Davis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davis works his way back into a safe position though.

Davis has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Brown to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Davis is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Brown pulls down on the head and he's put Davis to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Monty Brown!
