Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johann Bruno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Rashad Evans!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruno is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bruno is looking to clinch.
Bruno tries to clinch but Evans is having none of it.
Bruno doesn't manage to clinch there - Evans circles away.
Evans shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Bruno fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bruno lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Evans circles away quickly and effectively.

Evans circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bruno thows a body shot but no joy.

Bruno wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Evans tries to bum rush Bruno with a series of wild strikes but Bruno uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Evans counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Evans.

Evans seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Evans thows a huge punch but Bruno dodges it nicely.
Evans has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Bruno tries to close the distance and clinch but Evans swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bruno tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Evans manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Bruno lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Bruno connects with a knee to the head.
Bruno lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Evans backwards.
Bruno using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Evans has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Bruno lands a good knee to the midsection. Evans won't want to take too many of those.

It looks like Rashad Evans has been cut.
Bruno gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Bruno tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Evans's elbow.
Bruno lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Bruno scores with a knee to the head.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bruno lands with a light punch inside.
Bruno is pressed up against the cage. Evans has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bruno down to the mat. Bruno avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Bruno lands a right hook to the body.
Bruno tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Bruno.
Bruno looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Bruno tries to close the distance and clinch up but Evans swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bruno lands a slapping body shot.

Bruno throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Evans stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Bruno follows into mount!


Evans is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bruno is looking to stand but Bruno has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Evans is still in real trouble! Can Bruno finish him?
Evans seems to have recovered his senses.
Evans is working to get back to half guard.
Bruno is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Evans slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Evans is pressing down on Bruno's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bruno wants to stand but Evans has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Evans kicks Bruno off and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Bruno throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Evans on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.


That has opened up Rashad Evans's cut even more.
Evans takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Evans on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bruno. Bruno obviously looking to wear him down.
Evans has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bruno finds it's way round the side to connect with Evans's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Evans stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bruno.
Bruno fails with an attempt to clinch.
The fighters circle, before Bruno throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Evans's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Bruno lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Johann Bruno!
Johann Bruno seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
