Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tito Ortiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortiz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ortiz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ortiz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Silva wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ortiz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ortiz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Silva pushes Ortiz away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ortiz gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Ortiz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Ortiz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silva, who protects the arm well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Silva is trying to stand up here but Ortiz is controlling him well.

Ortiz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silva defends it well.

Ortiz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Silva looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ortiz pulls his head out easily.

Ortiz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Silva sees it coming and defends easily.

Ortiz wants to work for an arm triangle but Silva is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Silva looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.

Ortiz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Silva manages to get to full guard.

Ortiz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ortiz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ortiz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ortiz should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Silva has tightened it up now! Ortiz should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
