PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slasher Bone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Tonnara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bone comes to the cage accompanied by we are electric. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bone fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tonnara to the ground. Bone is now in Tonnara's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bone missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bone wants to pass the guard but Tonnara is keeping the position.

Bone tries to free his leg and advance position but Tonnara is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Tonnara jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bone walks away with a smile on his face. Tonnara gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tonnara throws a head kick that Bone semi-blocks.

Bone closes the distance and clinches up with Tonnara, looking for a takedown. Bone pushes Tonnara against the cage but Tonnara circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tonnara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bone shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tonnara sprawls well. Tonnara wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bone gets slowly back to his feet.
Bone tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tonnara paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tonnara stuns Bone with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Bone bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bone is breathing heavily.
Bone looks up at the clock and then as Tonnara takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bone smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Tonnara throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Tonnara wants to control but Bone postures up.
Tonnara is looking for a sweep.
Tonnara is not content to let Bone control the position.

Tonnara tries to buck Bone off but Bone is having none of it.

Bone really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bone throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Slasher Bone will probably get the nod.
That's time! Bone's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Slasher Bone overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bone is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tonnara sees it coming and defends easily.
Bone lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Tonnara wants to control but Bone is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Slasher Bone just wasn't active enough.
Tonnara throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Bone.

Tonnara misses with a series of wild punches.

Tonnara looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bone throws a series of punches but Tonnara avoids them all with ease.
Tonnara changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bone tries to avoid it but Tonnara manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bone to the ground. Bone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bone swats away the attempt to clinch by Tonnara.

Bone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bone throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tonnara tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bone is in Tonnara's guard.

Tonnara has hold of Bone's hands but Bone slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Slasher Bone dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Tonnara wants to get up but he can't break Bone's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Slasher Bone just wasn't active enough.
Bone connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Tonnara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bone changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tonnara looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bone decides to stand back up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tonnara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tonnara is trying to maintain a safe position but Bone gets an underhook and turns Tonnara into the cage.
Tonnara tries to pull guard but Bone holds him up against the cage and eventually Tonnara drops back down to his feet.
Bone tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Tonnara avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Slasher Bone showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Slasher Bone started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
