Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacques Gabriel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gabriel.
Gabriel just misses with a punch to the body.
Gabriel swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Doe tries to clinch

and Gabriel counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Gabriel working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Gabriel wants to control from the top but Doe keeps moving.
Gabriel working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Doe's head.

Doe looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gabriel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Doe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gabriel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gabriel loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Doe looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Gabriel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gabriel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gabriel throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Doe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gabriel is aware though and is defending well.
Gabriel slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ground and pound from Gabriel seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Gabriel throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Gabriel lands a nice forearm strike.
Gabriel tries to move to mount but Doe blocks the move with his legs.
Gabriel wants to control but Doe is keeping him busy.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Doe struggling a bit here.

Doe prevents Gabriel from moving into mount.
Gabriel in side control lands a decent elbow.
Gabriel wants to control but Doe is keeping him busy.
Doe struggling a bit here.
Doe is trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gabriel tries to move into full mount but can't pass Doe's legs.
Gabriel misses with the ground and pound.
Doe sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Gabriel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Doe is looking to control Gabriel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Doe avoid being mounted?
Gabriel working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gabriel in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Doe tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gabriel!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jacques Gabriel!
A relieved looking Jacques Gabriel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
