PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Saul I Saullas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Queen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saullas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Conjure One - Pandora. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Queen darts in and clinches Saullas up against the cage.

Saullas successfully pulls guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Queen won't allow Saullas to sweep him here.
Saullas is looking to stand up but Queen isn't so interested in that idea.
Saullas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Queen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Saullas's head.
Queen cracks Saullas with a solid left hand.
Queen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Saullas works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Queen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Queen is working Saullas over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Saullas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Queen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Saullas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Saullas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Queen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Queen has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Saullas regains guard immediately.

Queen throws an elbow that misses. Saullas uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Queen's guard. Nice move by Saullas!
Saullas wants to control from the top but Queen keeps moving.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Saullas is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Saullas wants to get up but he can't break Queen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Queen rushes Saullas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Queen wants the takedown. Saullas is fighting it off but Queen persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Saullas's guard against the cage.
Queen distracts Saullas with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Queen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Queen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Saullas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Queen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Saullas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Queen manages to get himself to full guard.

Saullas swings for the body but Queen moves out of range.
Saullas misses with a head kick.
Saullas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Queen pinned against the cage. Queen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Oliver Queen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Queen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Saul I Saullas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Queen has managed to clinch.
Saullas goes for a takedown attempt but Queen pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Saullas closes the distance and clinches up with Queen, looking for a takedown. Saullas pushes Queen against the cage but Queen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Saul I Saullas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Queen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Saullas as he avoids it easily.

Saullas moves into range and clinches up with Queen.

Saullas is trying to force a seperation but Queen has the dominant position.

Queen turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Queen manages to end up in side control.

Oliver Queen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Queen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Queen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Saullas with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Oliver Queen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Queen stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Saullas throws up his legs and catches Queen in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Queen tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Saullas! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Saul I Saullas!
As Saul I Saullas got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Fuck Yeah ! Love and Peace People ! Life is short ! Remember !'.
