The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wulf swats away the attempt to clinch by Butler.
Butler gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Wulf tries to sprawl but Butler drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Wulf wants to sweep but Butler has passed to side control!
Wulf can't do much from the bottom here.
Wulf might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That was a close round but I would say that Nathan Wulf will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Wulf misses with a series of wild punches.
Wulf throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wulf throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wulf thows a body shot but no joy.
Butler throws a sloppy head kick and Wulf moves out of range easily.
Butler misses with a head kick.
Butler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Wulf misses with a two punch combination.
Butler throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Wulf.
Wulf misses with a body shot.
Wulf misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Butler moves in looking to clinch but Wulf pushes him off.
Butler displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wulf throws out the jab.

Wulf lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Butler circles away quickly and effectively.
Wulf will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sloppy strikes from Wulf. Those never looked like landing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Butler moves in looking to clinch but Wulf pushes him off.
Wulf jabs Butler right on the nose. Butler blinks but takes it well.

Butler moves into range and clinches up with Wulf.

Butler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wulf wants to improve his position but Butler is controlling well.

Wulf is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
A left lands for Wulf.

Butler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wulf as he avoids it easily.

Butler tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wulf just stands there and leans against the cage.
Nathan Wulf has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Butler.
Wulf has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Butler jumps guard and drags Wulf to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Wulf is sitting in close to Butler's body. Butler has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Wulf is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Wulf is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Butler.
