The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell blocks a head kick by Reigns.

Reigns throws a right hand that Maxwell ducks under and follows up with a left that Maxwell also avoids with ease.

Reigns is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Reigns tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maxwell paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Maxwell counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Reigns is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Maxwell is defending well.

Maxwell lands a big head kick that sends Reigns tumbling to the mat! Maxwell takes a step backwards and waves Reigns back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Reigns is still on wobbly legs! Can Maxwell finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Maxwell cracks Reigns with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Reigns tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Maxwell pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Reigns is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
