PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Parker McQuail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Nutzack Jnr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McQuail comes to the cage accompanied by Glasgow Kiss. Nutzack Jnr has chosen Scream and Shoot the metal version as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by McQuail.
McQuail misses with a few strikes there.
McQuail throws a series of punches but Nutzack Jnr avoids them all with ease.
A combination from Nutzack Jnr does no damage.

McQuail scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McQuail cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

McQuail is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nutzack Jnr defends it well.

McQuail feints and then cracks Nutzack Jnr's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nutzack Jnr down.

Oooooh!!! Nutzack Jnr has knocked McQuail down with a huge combo! Nutzack Jnr steps away and waves a wobbly McQuail back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Parker McQuail has been cut.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

McQuail is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McQuail swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Nutzack Jnr is now in McQuail's guard. A big mistake from McQuail there, giving up the dominant position!
Nutzack Jnr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That was a close second round but I would say that Parker McQuail will probably get the nod.

Nutzack Jnr throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McQuail's waist but McQuail gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nutzack Jnr off to one side.

McQuail wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nutzack Jnr, who protects the arm well.

McQuail shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McQuail was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Parker McQuail.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for McQuail, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Parker McQuail decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
