PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Wrath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ford Prefect (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prefect has chosen For Whom The Bell Tolls as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Wrath. Beautiful body shot.
Prefect shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wrath defends it nicely.
Wrath swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Wrath takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Wrath clinches up against the cage.
Wrath gets underhooks to prevent Prefect's takedown attempt.
Wrath working hard to break the clinch.
Prefect can't get the takedown.
Paul Wrath has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ford Prefect.
Wrath wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Wrath wants to break free but Prefect has control.
Wrath displaying some good clinch control by pressing Prefect up against the cage.
Wrath is trying to push Prefect away but Prefect has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Wrath lands a nice shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Prefect jumps guard but Wrath turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Wrath tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Prefect's elbow.
Prefect is trying to stall.
Prefect stalling in the clinch.
Wrath blocks an elbow strike.
Wrath prevents a takedown attempt there.
Wrath is trying to break free.
Wrath gets through Prefect's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Wrath jumps into guard, dragging Prefect to the mat.

Wrath escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Prefect gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Prefect trying to control the position from guard on top but Wrath is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wrath wants to sweep here but Prefect controlling him for the moment.
Wrath manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Prefect manages to get himself to full guard.

Wrath is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Prefect has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Wrath is looking to defend but Prefect has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Wrath! Prefect pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Wrath taps out and this one is all over!
