Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toki Mazuke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mazuke swivels and escapes.
Davis slaps away a takedown attempt from Mazuke, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mazuke shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Davis as he avoids it easily.
Mazuke takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Davis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mazuke's waist but Mazuke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davis off to one side.
Davis throws a right and a left that Mazuke avoids nicely.
Michael Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis lands with an overhand left.
Mazuke should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Mazuke might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Davis haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Toki Mazuke.

That was a close round but I would say that Michael Davis will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Davis connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Davis rushes Mazuke and presses him up against the cage.
Mazuke is trying to drag Davis to the mat but Davis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Mazuke shoots in for a takedown but Davis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Mazuke counters with a three punch combo that has Davis backing up. Davis nods at Mazuke to acknowledge the strikes.
