Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stefan Roosmalen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Dale Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan Roosmalen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ricky Dale Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Roosmalen avoids it really well and circles away.
Roosmalen lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Roosmalen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Johnson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Roosmalen counters with a two punch combo.

Stefan Roosmalen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Dale Johnson.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Roosmalen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Roosmalen eventually gives up the hold.

Johnson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Roosmalen is aware though and is defending well.

Johnson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Roosmalen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Roosmalen's back!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Johnson is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Roosmalen controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.
Johnson is fighting to break Roosmalen's control of his arms but Roosmalen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Johnson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Roosmalen keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Johnson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Roosmalen on his heels. He'll look to pass Roosmalen's guard now, I'm sure.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Roosmalen counters with a leg kick.
Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Roosmalen, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Roosmalen against the ropes but Roosmalen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Roosmalen is looking for the choke from the back position but Johnson is controlling his hands well.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Roosmalen. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Roosmalen is looking for a choke. Johnson gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Johnson manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Roosmalen wants to control but Johnson passes easily into half guard.
Johnson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roosmalen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Johnson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Roosmalen haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Johnson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Roosmalen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Roosmalen is staying active underneath Johnson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
