PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lauren Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Benevides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dave Benevides told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Benevides!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Benevides drives through with a takedown into Burns's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Benevides throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Burns's waist but Burns gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Benevides off to one side.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Burns lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Benevides has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Benevides and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Benevides is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Burns is trying to escape and Benevides transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Burns is forced to tap! Nice work there by Benevides! Very nice indeed!
