Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Toshi Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ortiz's entrance music is Avenged Sevenfold - Welcome To The Family. A fine choice. Patterson has chosen Jay Z and Kanye West - Gotta Have It as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Toshi Ortiz has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Toshi Ortiz seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz tries a head kick but it misses.
Ortiz misses with an uppercut.
Ortiz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ortiz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Patterson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ortiz is in Patterson's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ortiz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ortiz throws an elbow that misses. Patterson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ortiz's guard. Nice move by Patterson!
Ortiz wants to get back to his feet but Patterson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Patterson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ortiz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Patterson, into his guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ortiz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Patterson's guard.

Patterson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ortiz pulls his head out easily.

Ortiz tries to bum rush Patterson with a series of wild strikes but Patterson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ortiz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Patterson sprawls well initially but Ortiz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Ortiz is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ortiz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Patterson on the ground.
Ortiz lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Ortiz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Patterson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ortiz throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Patterson to regain full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Patterson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ortiz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Ortiz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ortiz looks to land a combination but Patterson avoids it well.
Ortiz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Patterson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ortiz is fending him off so far but Patterson persists. Nope, Ortiz circles away and we're back to standing.

A relieved looking Toshi Ortiz thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
