The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortiz fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ortiz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Beowulf moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Beowulf has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Ortiz scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Beowulf doesn't seem bothered though.
Beowulf lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ortiz shoots in looking for a takedown. Beowulf tries to sprawl out of it but Ortiz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Beowulf manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

That was a close round but I would say that SergiO Ortiz will probably get the nod.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
