Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Adam Rubio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanz Stokenhizer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stokenhizer has chosen The Lucky Bullets "Cross the Line" as his entrance music. Hanz Stokenhizer has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Adam Rubio's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Rubio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hanz Stokenhizer!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rubio closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stokenhizer can do anything to dispel that myth.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Rubio is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Rubio is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stokenhizer sees it coming and defends easily.
Stokenhizer is trying to maintain the position but Rubio is very close to passing his half guard.
Rubio is trying to control the action in half guard but Stokenhizer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Rubio seems to be working for a kimura but Stokenhizer defends the submission attempt.
Rubio is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Stokenhizer!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Poor strikes thrown by Rubio there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Stokenhizer has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stokenhizer is in a bad position with Rubio working for a choke. Stokenhizer manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

Rubio can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stokenhizer controls the pace.
Rubio is trying to keep Stokenhizer in close.

Rubio is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stokenhizer defends well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stokenhizer passes into half guard.
Rubio is trying to maintain the position but Stokenhizer is very close to passing his half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rubio is trying to stand.

We're going to have a standup here because Adam Rubio wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Rubio closes the distance and pushes Stokenhizer back into the cage.

Rubio wants the takedown. Stokenhizer is fighting it off but Rubio persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Stokenhizer's guard against the cage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stokenhizer keeping moving, preventing Rubio from controlling successfully.
Rubio won't allow Stokenhizer to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rubio tries to free his leg and advance position but Stokenhizer is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Rubio dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Horrible takedown by Rubio or perhaps it was just good defense by Stokenhizer which made him look bad.

Rubio clinches up against the cage.
Rubio is trying to push Stokenhizer away but Stokenhizer has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Rubio lands an uppercut.

Stokenhizer drags the fight down to the ground.
Rubio trying to control but Stokenhizer is working from the bottom.
Stokenhizer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rubio advances to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rubio moves nicely into side control.
Rubio has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Rubio trying to control but Stokenhizer is having none of it.
Poor strikes thrown by Rubio there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
BOOM! Rubio connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Adam Rubio overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rubio gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Hanz Stokenhizer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stokenhizer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Rubio closes the distance and clinches.
Rubio tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Rubio doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rubio gets through Stokenhizer's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Stokenhizer is pressed up against the cage. Rubio has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Stokenhizer down to the mat. Stokenhizer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Rubio closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A short uppercut from Rubio.


Stokenhizer is rocked!

Rubio breaks from the clinch.
Stokenhizer is still on wobbly legs! Can Rubio finish him?

Rubio moves into the clinch.

Rubio decides to pull guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rubio is on top in guard.
Stokenhizer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rubio loads up on a big left hand. Stokenhizer felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Rubio looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Stokenhizer can't hide his disappointment, as Rubio celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adam Rubio!
An out of breath and clearly excited Adam Rubio thanked Charlie Wang's Tattered Rags & 95% Laundry for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
