Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronny Bruvik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruvik has chosen Rånny Bruvik as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kevin Bishop has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Kevin Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ronny Bruvik!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruvik throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Bishop closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bruvik quickly recovers to half guard.
Bishop prevents Bruvik from improving his position.
Bishop with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Bishop is trying to control the action in half guard but Bruvik is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kevin Bishop has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Ronny Bruvik is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bishop chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bruvik can pounce on him.
Bishop comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bishop changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bruvik tries to avoid it but Bishop manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bruvik to the ground. Bruvik escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bishop throws a sloppy head kick and Bruvik moves out of range easily.
Bishop has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Bishop. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bruvik throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bruvik misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bishop.
Bruvik lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A close round but Ronny Bruvik will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bishop closes the distance and clinches up with Bruvik, looking for a takedown. Bishop pushes Bruvik against the cage but Bruvik circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Bishop is looking to wear down Bruvik with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Bruvik stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bishop swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bruvik wants to control from the top but Bishop keeps moving.
Ronny Bruvik is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bruvik postures up in Bishop's guard and throws a big left but Bishop blocks it.
Bruvik won't allow Bishop to sweep him here.
Bishop will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

I would just about give that final round to Ronny Bruvik.
Well Bruvik has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
