Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Springs!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice jab there from Springs.
Anderson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
No joy there for Springs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Springs shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Anderson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Springs tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Anderson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Anderson can't do much from the bottom here.
Springs wants to stand but Anderson is controlling his arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sam Springs hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Springs decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Anderson is trying to control but can't.

Springs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sam Springs was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Anderson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Springs darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Springs seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Springs decides to return to a standing position.
Springs misses with a double jab.
Springs swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Alex Anderson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Springs as he jumps to the side.

Anderson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Springs has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Springs connects with a solid leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Anderson tries to keep at a distance but Springs has taken the fight into the clinch.

Springs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Springs shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Springs was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Springs is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Anderson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sam Springs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Springs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
