PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sinisa Veljko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Pacino Delegratti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Veljko comes to the cage accompanied by Stemm - Face the pain. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Sinisa Veljko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Al Pacino Delegratti!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Veljko shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Delegratti's guard.
Veljko will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Veljko engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Veljko throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Veljko scoring with punches to the head and body.
Delegratti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Veljko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Veljko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Delegratti trying to keep a closed guard but Veljko is proving a slippery customer.
Delegratti utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Veljko trying to control but Delegratti is working from the bottom.
Delegratti avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Veljko is looking to work some ground and pound but Delegratti has wrist control.
Veljko wants to pass the guard but Delegratti is keeping the position.
Veljko trying to control the position from guard on top but Delegratti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Veljko slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Delegratti shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Delegratti was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Veljko explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Veljko is trying hard to land a takedown here. Delegratti sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Veljko throws a looping overhand right but Delegratti ducks down to avoid it.
Veljko shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Veljko ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Delegratti throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Veljko closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Veljko clinches with his opponent.
Veljko wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sinisa Veljko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Delegratti holding his opponent close, against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Veljko is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Delegratti is defending well.
Veljko is looking for a takedown.
Veljko prevents a body shot from Delegratti.
Delegratti slows down the pace here.
Veljko pushes off an throws an elbow but Delegratti leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Veljko gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Delegratti avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Veljko.
Veljko looks to land a strike but Delegratti avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Veljko trying to control but Delegratti is working from the bottom.
Veljko not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Delegratti wants to get back to his feet but Veljko is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Veljko content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Veljko is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Veljko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Veljko throws a big right hand that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sinisa Veljko dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Delegratti gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Veljko to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Delegratti not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Veljko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Delegratti swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Veljko in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Veljko passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Veljko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Delegratti keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Veljko has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Delegratti!
Veljko content just to control the position here.
The referee warns Delegratti that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Veljko dominating with strikes here.
Veljko lands a big shot there that rocks Delegratti but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Veljko lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Delegratti is rocked!
Veljko lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Delegratti hang on?
Delegratti is still in real trouble! Can Veljko finish him?
Sinisa Veljko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Veljko is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Delegratti goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Veljko!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Sinisa Veljko!
