Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Manlucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koa Polunu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manlucas comes to the cage accompanied by Killer Mike - Big Beast (Feat. Bun B, T.I. & Trouble). Ramon Manlucas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ramon Manlucas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Koa Polunu!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polunu throws a solid leg kick but Manlucas takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Polunu.
Manlucas thows a left - swing and a miss!
Polunu scores with a shot to the body.
Polunu throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Manlucas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Manlucas tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Manlucas slips under a jab.
Manlucas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Polunu throws a jab but it's blocked by Manlucas.

Polunu shoots in and bounces Manlucas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Polunu trying to control the position from guard on top but Manlucas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Polunu postures up in Manlucas's guard and throws a big left but Manlucas blocks it.

Manlucas throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Polunu escapes and throws Manlucas's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Polunu throws a strike aimed at the side of Manlucas's head but Manlucas avoids it well.

Manlucas tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Polunu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Polunu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Manlucas has escaped the position, nice work there.
Manlucas looks to move to half guard but instead Polunu has passed into mount! Damn!
Manlucas tries to reverse the position but Polunu maintains control.
Polunu misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Manlucas is desperately trying to improve his position but Polunu has a good base and remains in mount.

Manlucas defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Polunu.

Polunu is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Manlucas has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Polunu with shots to the head and body - Manlucas looks very uncomfortable down there.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Manlucas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Polunu pulls his head out easily.

Polunu frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Manlucas is trying to reverse the position but instead Polunu has taken his back - oops!
Manlucas covering up well and avoiding damage.
Polunu has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Manlucas's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Koa Polunu dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Manlucas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Polunu.
Polunu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Polunu takes a swing at Manlucas's ribcage but misses.
Manlucas thows a body shot but no joy.
Polunu misses with a body kick.
Polunu throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Polunu moves out of range of the strikes.
Manlucas moves out of range as Polunu strikes.
Polunu moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Polunu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Polunu shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Manlucas defends it nicely.
Polunu lands with a straight right. Manlucas didn't see that one coming.
Polunu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Manlucas manages to avoid it.
Polunu thows a left - swing and a miss!
Polunu lands a right hook to the body.
Polunu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Manlucas.
Koa Polunu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Polunu throws a low kick, looking for Manlucas's leg but Manlucas calmly moves out of range.
A slapping leg kick lands for Manlucas.
Manlucas misses with a left hand
and Polunu counters with an outside leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice body kick there by Polunu.
Manlucas takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Polunu connects with a leg kick. Manlucas looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Polunu throws a hook to the side of Manlucas's head but Manlucas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Polunu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Manlucas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ramon Manlucas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koa Polunu.
Good leg kick by Polunu there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Polunu shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Manlucas but Manlucas pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Polunu ducks right into an uppercut from Manlucas.
Koa Polunu seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The crowd cheers as Manlucas lands an impressive looking overhand right. Polunu doesn't seem phased though.
Polunu shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Manlucas as he jumps to the side.
Polunu throws a good cross that connects.
Polunu misses with a left hand
and Manlucas counters with a nice uppercut.
Polunu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Manlucas's calf.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Manlucas takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Polunu shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Manlucas napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Manlucas tries to buck Polunu off but Polunu is having none of it.
Koa Polunu has got the better of the ground game so far.

Polunu has hold of Manlucas's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Manlucas seems comfortable defending it but Polunu has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Manlucas is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Manlucas is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Polunu couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Koa Polunu!
A very excited looking Koa Polunu made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
