Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Jyllendael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Jyllendael!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Doyle!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jyllendael shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Doyle's guard.

Doyle is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jyllendael is aware though and is defending well.
Jyllendael slips nicely into half guard.
Jyllendael wants to pass the guard but Doyle is defending well.
Doyle keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Doyle is trying to get back to full guard.

Jyllendael decides to return to a standing position.
Doyle wants to clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Doyle is looking to clinch.

Jyllendael closes the distance and clinches.
Doyle jumps guard but Jyllendael turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Jyllendael pulls Doyle into guard.
Doyle forces his way into half guard.

Doyle looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Doyle is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Jyllendael kicks off Doyle and gets to his feet.
Doyle shoots for a takedown but Jyllendael saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jyllendael closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Doyle is looking for a sweep.

Jyllendael could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jyllendael not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jake Jyllendael.
Doyle fails with an attempt to clinch.
Doyle takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Jyllendael shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Doyle manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Doyle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jyllendael defends it easily.

Doyle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jyllendael can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Doyle is looking for a triangle but Jyllendael pushes his legs off easily.
Jyllendael knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Doyle on the ground.

Doyle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jyllendael can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jyllendael controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Doyle wants to sweep but no luck.

Doyle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jyllendael got a little sloppy there for a moment and Doyle has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jyllendael has managed to get both his arms back between Doyle's legs - danger averted.
Jyllendael is stalling in the full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Doyle escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jyllendael gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Steven Doyle will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!



Jyllendael shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Doyle is trying to defend but Jyllendael finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Doyle tries to roll over but Jyllendael keeps him under control.
Jyllendael frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Doyle manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Jyllendael escapes and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Doyle tries to clinch but Jyllendael is having none of it.
Doyle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jyllendael is fending him off so far but Doyle persists. Nope, Jyllendael circles away and we're back to standing.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Doyle enables Jyllendael to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Doyle manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Doyle is looking for a triangle but Jyllendael pushes his legs off easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jyllendael won't allow Doyle to sweep him here.

Doyle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jyllendael doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Doyle is tightening it up a little... Jyllendael has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Jyllendael reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Jyllendael taps out! Nice BJJ there by Doyle!
