Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kei Kurono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Ichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kei Kurono!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Ichi!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ichi tries to keep at a distance but Kurono has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ichi manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ichi throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Kurono is stalling in the full guard.
Kurono trying to control but Ichi is working from the bottom.
Ichi wants to stand and escape but Kurono is having none of it.
Ichi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kurono wants to control from the top but Ichi keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Kei Kurono wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Kurono closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ichi to the mat! Ichi manages to get full guard.
Kurono won't allow Ichi to get back to his feet.

Ichi looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kurono has picked Ichi up and slammed him! Ichi can't keep hold of the triangle and Kurono manages to pass to side control!

Kurono lands a few punches from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Who's going to make the next move?
Kurono has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ichi is not content to let Kurono control the position.
Ichi can't do much from the bottom here.
Ichi is not content to let Kurono control the position.
Ichi is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kurono is controlling him well.
Kurono lands an elbow.
Ichi tries to buck Kurono off but Kurono is having none of it.

Kurono wants to control but Ichi is keeping him busy.
Kurono is really struggling to control Ichi but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Ichi is looking to regain half guard here but Kurono keeps moving and retains side control.
Kurono is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Kurono wants to take a breather but Ichi manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Kurono.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kurono trying to control the position from guard on top but Ichi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We're going to have a standup here because Kei Kurono wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Kurono shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Ichi looking for submissions off his back.
Kurono trying to control from half guard but Ichi is working away.
Ichi is trying to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kurono wants to take a breather but Ichi is having none of it.
Ichi wants to get back to his feet.
Ichi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ichi is not content to let Kurono control the position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Kei Kurono has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Kurono gets caught napping as Ichi dives in and scores a takedown. Kurono manages to retain guard.
Kurono is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ichi wants to stand but Kurono has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ichi advances position into side control!
Kurono pushes Ichi away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ichi gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kei Kurono dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Ichi closes the distance and clinches.

Ichi gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Kurono looking for submissions off his back.
Ichi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kurono keeps working.
Ichi is thwarting Kurono's attempts to control the position.
Ichi working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kurono moves into full guard.

Ichi stands up and waves to Kurono to follow him.

Ichi gets caught flat footed, as Kurono shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ichi controls Kurono momentarily but Kurono frees himself.
Kurono trying to control but Ichi is working from the bottom.
Kurono is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ichi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Kei Kurono wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Ichi lands a head kick. Kurono smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ichi closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kurono's guard.
Ichi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ichi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Ichi lands a couple of digs.
Ichi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Ken Ichi has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kurono on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Kurono tries to control but Ichi manages to take his back.
Kurono trying to get back to his feet but Ichi is in full control for now.

Ichi has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Kurono fending off the submission attempt from Ichi.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ichi trying to control momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ichi has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Kurono! Can he survive? No! He's out! Ichi gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ken Ichi!
