Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Hercie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Russel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hercie comes to the cage accompanied by Bleed it out. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ben Russel was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Russel!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russel shoots in and gets a takedown into Hercie's guard.

Russel engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Russel distracts Hercie with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Russel trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Russel wants to control from the top but Hercie keeps moving.
Hercie wants to control the position but Russel says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Russel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Russel landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Russel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Nice strikes from Russel there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Russel is working for a kimura but Hercie is defending it quite comfortably.
Russel is nestled in close to Hercie, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Russel lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Russel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hercie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Russel looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Russel looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Russel is trying for a kimura here. Hercie looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Russel wins by kimura!

In his post fight interview, Ben Russel started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
