Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sonny Kewell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holmes comes to the cage accompanied by "Unsettling Differences" by Blue Smock Nancy. Andre Holmes is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sonny Kewell!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kewell gets the takedown into side control.
Kewell lands a few punches from side control.
Kewell prevents Holmes from escaping the position.
Kewell tries to advance to mount but can't.
Kewell is trying to get an arm triangle but Holmes is defending well.
Holmes is not content to let Kewell control the position.

Kewell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Holmes has escaped the position, nice work there.

Holmes is really stuck here.
Kewell has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Holmes has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Holmes tries to escape the position.
Kewell working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kewell patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Kewell is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Holmes is defending well though. Kewell let's go of the attempt for now.
Holmes tries to escape but Kewell has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Kewell tries to get the hooks in deep but Holmes pushed the leg off.
Kewell has got his arm under Holmes's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Holmes has spun round into Kewell's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
Kewell is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kewell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sonny Kewell dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kewell looks to land a body kick but Holmes moved away.
Kewell tries to clinch but Holmes is having none of it.
Holmes wants to clinch up but Kewell keeps it at a distance.
Andre Holmes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Holmes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kewell is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Holmes sees it coming and defends easily.

Kewell moves into full mount! Holmes won't be happy about that!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kewell has control of Holmes's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Holmes regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kewell is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Holmes knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Holmes for a finish.
Holmes is in a bad position with Kewell working for a choke. Holmes manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Kewell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Holmes manages to get himself to full guard.

Holmes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kewell defends it easily.

Kewell is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Holmes is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Holmes has escaped and now he's on top!
Kewell has his feet on Holmes's thighs here. He's pushed Holmes off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Holmes screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Sonny Kewell decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
