Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexi Takala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Germano Savage!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takala loads up on a big right hand but Savage slips the punch.
Savage lands with a nice body kick.
Savage throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Savage thows a body shot but no joy.
Takala throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Savage throws a body kick that misses.
Takala tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Savage was well out of range. Poor timing from Takala.
Savage lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Takala circles away quickly and effectively.
Takala displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Savage.
Takala misses with a looping left.
Savage scores with a push kick.
Savage throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Takala's head.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Takala crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Savage - the referee stops the clock and Takala gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Savage. Takala manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Savage throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Savage misses with a head kick.
Takala keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Takala looks to score with a jab to the body but Savage is just out of range.
Savage throws a head kick but Takala moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Savage tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Both fighters circling a little - Savage finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Savage will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Savage throws a nice inside leg kick.
Takala lands with a shot to the body.
Takala throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Savage keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Savage misses with an attempted mid kick.
Germano Savage is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Takala takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Takala fails in his attempt to clinch.
Takala wants to clinch up but Savage keeps it at a distance.
A cross from Takala lands.
Savage tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Savage lands a head shot.
Savage throws a sloppy head kick and Takala moves out of range easily.
Savage looks winded!
Takala shoots in but Savage avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A solid leg kick lands there for Savage.
Savage bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Takala's head.
Savage takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Germano Savage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takala misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Takala throws a low kick, looking for Savage's leg but Savage calmly moves out of range.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Takala.
Takala is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Savage.
Takala is rocked!
Takala fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Oh Takala is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexi Takala. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Savage lands a front kick.
Savage lands a big right hook! Takala looks hurt but is still standing! Savage lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Takala falls down and Savage dives in with a huge hammer fist! Takala's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Savage runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
