The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chisaraokwu shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carter but Carter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Chisaraokwu shoots in for a takedown but Carter shows good takedown defense.
Chisaraokwu closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carter circles away.

Chisaraokwu shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Carter manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Carter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chisaraokwu on the ground.

Carter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Chisaraokwu slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Chisaraokwu sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Carter is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chisaraokwu throwing strikes but Carter manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Carter is breathing heavily.
Carter wants to stand but Chisaraokwu is controlling his arm.
Chisaraokwu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Chisaraokwu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Chisaraokwu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Carter takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Chisaraokwu lands a decent elbow from side control.
Carter takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Carter is rocked!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chisaraokwu creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
